Abstract

The field of Media Linguistics emerges as a critical discipline that examines language in its multifaceted manifestation across digital and print media. This paper delves into the complexities of analyzing language in these mediums, highlighting the unique characteristics and challenges each presents. In the realm of digital media, the rapid evolution of communication platforms has necessitated an understanding of the linguistic nuances of social media, online forums, and digital advertisements. Print media, on the other hand, continues to offer rich linguistic data through newspapers, magazines, and books. The analysis of these media types reveals distinct linguistic strategies, such as the use of hyperbole and metaphors in digital communication, and the formal structure of printed texts. The paper further explores the implications of these linguistic practices on audience reception, discourse formation, and cultural representation. By examining language use in media, this study underscores the importance of Media Linguistics in understanding the social and cultural dynamics of our contemporary information landscape.
